Friday in Pictures

Yesterday the three of us finally got time out of our very busy schedules to hang out with each other. We had a really nice and lovely day outside as we were finally starting to feel that summer is almost here.🌞 We didn’t really have any specific plans for the day, so we just decided to take a little trip into Salt Lake City and then take it from there. So here is our Friday for you…

Our first stop (of course had something to do with food 😁 ) was to “Settebello”, one of the best pizza places in Salt Lake. We would highly recommend this place if you’er looking for good pizza.🍕

The choice is too hard!!!

One thing that we really like about Salt Lake is that we can find small bakeries that reminds us of our hometown Stockholm! This little cafe called “Eva’s Bakery” was one place that we came across while strolling around. They had a lot of really yummy things to choose from, things like different kinds of pastries or different kinds of cakes,  and the interior made you feel like you were stepping into an old romantic movie.

Sometimes you just need a reminder of where you are! 😜

We ended the day by going to the movies and watched the new “Pirates Of The Caribbean”, and we were very satisfied by how the movie series ended, as we have been fans of these movies since the very start.

I must say, it has been a good day!

The engine starts to run and we are moving, after reaching 200mph we are ready for takeoff. I look out the window over the beautiful but gray landscape, and I think to myself, I did it.

23 hours later after two flights I am finally surrounded by what now will be my home for little more than 10 months. I feel excited and happy, though a part of me is freaking out a bit. This is no longer one of my biggest dreams on a piece of paper, it is actually reality and I couldn’t be more proud of myself.

Ever since I can remember, taking one year of high school in the United States has always been on my ” bucket list,” and now I’m finally able to say that I can cross that off.

How many times have you written down all your biggest dreams and goals on a piece of paper and promised yourself, one day you’ll do it, but end up never doing anything to make it happened because it’s “too hard”? ( probably way too many times) Believe me, this was me on a daily basis until I actually found a way to make my dream come true. So here is my top five tips on how you can turn your dreams into reality!

🖤 Write it down: take out a piece of paper and go 🍌. Write down every single dream or goal you have, whether they are big or small. Remember, only the sky is the limit.

Tip! Make a cool design or outlook to give you inspiration every time you look at the list.

🖤 Hang it up: place your ” bucket list” where you can see it and always be reminded about your dreams and goals.

🖤 The five stars: for every single dream or goal. Put down five things you have to do or accomplish to fulfill it. This helped me a lot!

🖤 Keep track: one of the most important things is to be organized and know how you are doing. I used a calendar to write down every single checklist and important dates etc. Reminders on iPhone is my number one go to app when it comes to keeping track of things. It’s amazing! I also kept a journal to write down my personal thoughts on my progress.

🖤 Stay motivated: YESWe all have those days when we just want to crash on the couch and watch Netflix, and sometimes that is absolutely okay, but not if it happens too often. Find a hobby you love so whenever you lack motivation take a break and do the things you love so that you get your motivation back and increase your inspiration to keep on going. For me it is painting on canvas.

Second Year ✅

I can’t believe that we have only had our blog for less than a week and I already have my first advice for anyone thinking about starting a blog. Don’t start a blog the same week as finals!

I can honestly say that I have never had a more stressful finals week that this one, so much to do and not enough time. I think the hardest part with finals is that you can feel that you’re so close to being done that the motivation and energy is not really there.  There are so many papers to write and project to do and so much information to cram into your head which makes it impossible to know where to start. Even though I try to prepare and plan everything in advanced it still gets overwhelming. So if anyone has any good advice, please let me know!

Having all that said, I can’t believe that I’m ending my second year at university. Where does the time go? When did I get so old? It doesn’t feel like it was that long ago since I graduated from high school, even though a lot has change since then. It’s always a  bittersweet feeling at the end of a school year, because I can kind of take a second to think about where I am right now in my life and where I’m heading next. I also know that there are a lot of people that I have met during the year that I might not never really see again ( Sometimes I even wonder what really happened with some of my old classmates 🙂 ).

Trust me, my desk is not always this organized 😉

Although there are a lot of work at university I have really enjoyed it so far. I love that there are so many different people I get to meet, people with different backgrounds and cultures, there is so much to learn just from the other students. I also like all the opportunities there are, and new things to try and experience. I think that university suits me a lot better than high school ever did and I’m excited to see what else this experience has in store for me.

🖤 What is your favorite book?

One of my passions in life is reading books. It might seem boring for some of you, but for me one of the most relaxing things is to be completely lost in a separate world where you can imagine yourself as another person. One of my favorite authors is Jojjo Moyes. I think I’ve almost read all of her books except for 2 or 3 Oops 🙊. My all time favorite book is After You which is the sequel to Me Before You. I read it during a difficult time in my life, and to be honest it was almost like therapy for me. I absolutely love that book. It mean so much to me!

🖤 If I could travel anywhere right now, where would it be?

That’s easy! I would fly to London, England in a heartbeat! Then take the underground to Covent Garden and eat at my favorite fish and chips place 😂

🖤 Favorite quote?

“Grow through what you go through”

🖤 What is one of your passions?

I have a lot of passions in life, but one of my biggest passions is to paint on canvas with acrylic colors especially blue ( don’t know why ). I wouldn’t say that I’m the best at it, but it helps me to relax whenever I am feeling stressed and overwhelmed. It gives me a break from everyday life. I usually just paint different shapes and abstract things, whatever I feel like.

🖤 Best life advice?

One life advice I would give all teenagers out there is to never to give up!! The boundaries are imaginary. The obstacles are made up and the limits don’t exist. Never let anyone make you believe that you can’t do something, the most important thing is to never care what others might think. Do what you love and don’t let anything or anyone stop you.

🖤 Something you like?

I love the moment when I walk past a person that just smells incredible, especially if it is a guy. There’s just something about men’s cologne.😁

🖤 Biggest pet peeve?

Easy! If you’re a person that doesn’t wash your hands then you and I can’t really be friends, but I hate to say that because I do want to be your friend, so please just wash your hands.

Don’t even get me started on double dipping.😂

🖤 Favorite Quote?

🖤 What is one of your passions?

Life is my passion! ( cliche but so true )

🖤 Best life advice?

I honestly believe that thinking about others and taking time off of your life to help the people around you will make your life much happier and more successful. We often get too caught up with ourselves that we forget that people need people, life is better when you have people to share it with, therefore we need to be there for each other.

🖤 If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, what would it be?

I have never met a person in my life before that loves seafood as much as I do. I’m not kidding when I say I would be able to eat shrimp everyday for the rest of my life.

🖤 If you got the chance to compete in the Olympics, what sport would you compete in?

For winter it would be the ice dancing, always wished I could do that. For summer I think it would be swimming just because I love to be in the water.

🖤 What was your dream job when you were younger?

When I was about five years old my dream job was to become a midwife, haha is that wired?

🖤What is one of your passions?

There are so many things that I really love to do, and I’m always up for learning new things, but one of my biggest passions in life is dance, all different styles equally. I love to just move around and being able to have control over my body, and it really is the best work out.

🖤 Best life advice?

I think that it’s important to see the good in everything life throws at you, and to have family and friends close, you need them more than you think! 🙂
